Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point’s Nuclear Medicine Department Granted Accreditation by the American College of Radiology

004045-Nuclear-Medicine%20Accredidation Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point recently announced that it has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in nuclear medicine services from the American College of Radiology.

The American College of Radiology (ACR), a national organization serving over 32,000 members, awards accreditation to facilities for the achievement of high practice standards after a peer-review evaluation of its practice. The evaluations are conducted by board certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. They assess the quality of the personnel and facility equipment. The surveyors report their findings to the ACR’s committee on accreditation, which subsequently provides a practice with a comprehensive report.

The nuclear medicine department of Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point met testing quality and image quality standards 100% on its application on its first attempt at accreditation.
